Tamang Heritage Trail
Tamang Heritage Trail lies near the regular Langtang Valley Trekking route. The region has densely Tibetan-origin Tamang inhabitants. They were living their traditional way of life from generation to generation. Tamang Heritage Trail has been open recently for trekkers to explore and experience its local cultural heritage; it helps to make their Nepal trekking more interesting and joyful. Trekkers can also enjoy the stunning views of snow-capped mountains and abundant wildlife snow leopards, red pandas, musk deer, etc. In March and April, the Rhododendron forests have different species of trees, birds, and butterflies.
During the Tamang Heritage Trail, you can also discover the rough history of the Tibetan ancestors. The valley also offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs, and meadows strewn with daisies as real nomad sceneries. Along the trek, trekkers get a chance to discover the route history of the Tibetan ancestors who had migrated a long time ago. Their descendants are now Buddhists, and they are living on agriculture and trade. They dress in colorful and their houses are enhanced with beautiful woodcarvings, which have now become the main attraction for travelers.
Tamang Heritage Trail is a relatively new trail and has an excellent walk, whether there is a conjunction with Langtang Valley Trek or not. It attracts far fewer trekkers, and it is less commercial than most of the other trails, leading many people to compare it to trekking through Nepal.
