Bardia National Park is the largest untouched wilderness in Nepal’s Terai region, covering 968 sq km of sal forest and grassland along the Geruwa and Karnali Rivers. The 3 nights 4 days Bardia National Park tour with its tranquil atmosphere offers a rare chance to experience the park almost in solitude, especially with the current dip in tourism.

Home to around 22 Royal Bengal tigers and 100 one-horned rhinos, wildlife sightings can be elusive, but other mammals include grey langurs, rhesus macaques, leopards, sloth bears, and various deer species. Over 250 bird species, such as the endangered Bengal florican and sarus crane, thrive here. You may also spot gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles, and even Gangetic dolphins, on river rafting or canoe trips along the Geruwa River.

Bardia is part of Nepal’s rich wildlife offerings, with other notable parks like Chitwan and Koshi Tappu. The park is home to rare species, including the Royal Bengal Tiger and Gangetic Dolphin, alongside 550 bird species.

A Jungle Safari in Bardia offers activities like elephant-back safaris, canoe rides, nature walks, bird watching, and visits to local villages, all ensuring a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in one of the most pristine natural environments in the world.

Please note that Maoist rebels are active on the park’s fringes, and it’s advisable to travel with an organized tour, especially when a ceasefire is in effect. Despite these concerns, Bardia remains one of Nepal’s most exceptional destinations for wildlife lovers.
