Machhapuchhre Model Trek into the middle parts of the Annapurna region is completely off-the-beaten-path. During this trek, we can’t see another trekker for several days. Over the past few years, roads have been slowly creeping up the Annapurna Circuit Trek, taking away some of its attraction. It is one of the most beloved treks in the world, but not similar as it was 5/10 years ago. If you would like to trek in the Annapurna region in the pristine trail that few know about, the Machhapuchhre Model Trek is the best match for you. This is the recently build trekking trail and few Nepalese and foreigners alike even know it exists. It is uncommercialized trekking trail and is perfect for the budget traveler.

After an enjoyable night in Pokhara, drive to Milanchowk and start the trekking through the backcountry. During the trek, you have two option either to camp in the great outdoors or stay in a lodge and get to know the locals. Nepal trek is not proper until you interact with the local people in their village. Throughout the Machhapuchhre Model Trek, associate with the warmhearted Gurung and Magar people while exploring in their villages. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)

Day 02: Explore the city and prepare for the trek.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Milanchok and trek to Ghachok (1,254m).

Day 05: Trek to Dhiprang (1,440m).

Day 06: Trek to Chichemle Kharka (2,645m).

Day 07: Trek to Lalka (2,250m).

Day 08: Trek to Ribhan (1,430m).

Day 09: Trek to Lachok (1,160m).

Day 10: Trek to Milanchok and drive to Pokhara.

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft)
A representative from HSA will pick uou up from the airport and take you to your hotel for overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Trek Preperation
Day tour of Kathmandu city , after breakfast in the morning you will be Proceed on to Boudhanath Stupa , Pasupatinath Temple , Patan Darbar square and Swayambhunath Stupa. Swayambhunath is a Buddhist Stupa said to be more than 2000 years old, is perched on a hillock 77 meters above the valley floor and offering a bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu City. Afternoon, tour of Patan, also known as Lalitpur or the “city of beauty” is the oldest city in the valley. A great center both of the Newari Buddhist religion and of traditional arts & crafts with 136 bahals or courtyards and 55 major temples. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (6-7hr)
After breakfast we will take a scenic bus drive of 7 hours to reach Pokhara. Walk around the lake side and explore Pokhara city on your own. Sitting at hotel balcony you can have an excellent view of the mountains as they are only 28 Kms away from Pokhara city, which lies at an altitude of 900m. When you explore Pokhara you will find out that Pokhara is the natural hub of Nepal.

Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Milanchok and trek to Ghachok (1,254m).
We start our drive to Milanchok after breakfast in Pokhara. It is a short 45 minutes drive after which we will start our trek to Ghachok which will last for 4-5 hours. We cross Mardi Khola and ascend to the stone-walled village of Ghachok. Ghachok is a traditional Gurung settlement. Home Stay facility is available at Ghachok.

Day 05: Trek to Dhiprang (1,440m).
Today we will head towards the village of Dhiprang through the pine forest and small settlements of different ethnic groups. After walking for about 5 hours and a stop for lunch we will reach Dhiprang in the afternoon.

Day 06: Trek to Chichemle Kharka (2,645m).
After a warm breakfast at Dhiprang we head east towards Chimchime.We. The walk goes through the rhododendron forest most of the times and we will walk for about 4 hours before we reach the camp for overnight stay. We stay overnight at camp.

Day 07: Trek to Lalka (2,250m).
Our trek continues southward through the rhododendron forest to reach Lalka. We stay overnight at camp. Trekking time 5-6 hours.

Day 08: Trek to Ribhan (1,430m).
We start our day early today and after breakfast start a 5 hours walk to the village of Ribhan. After walking past some forest, small settlements and crossing the streams we reach the village of Ribhan which has a majority of the Gurung Community.

Day 09: Trek to Lachok (1,160m).
Today our destination is Lachok, a small Gurung settlement situated at 1160m. We will walk for 3 hours before having the lunch break at a small settlement of Gurungs called Deurali. Further walking for a couple of hours we will reach Lachok,

Day 10: Trek to Milanchok and drive to Pokhara.
We will have a late morning today as the trek lasts only for about 2 hour. After reaching Milanchok we will take our Vehicle back to Pokhara. Pokhara is about half an hour from here.

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu
Drive from Pokhara by Tourist Bus in the morning at 7 am to Kathmandu. Included Meals : Breakfast

Day 12: Departure Day .
Our driver will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport or extend the trip and head for another trip within or outside Nepal.

This list is a guideline to help you pack for your adventure. Also, understand that the items listed below will vary a little according to the season and the trek duration. The weight limit for your luggage is 33 pounds or 15 kg. Remember that your luggage will be carried by your porter but you are required to carry a day-pack (with your valuables or anything important) on your own. We also suggest that you pack only what is necessary.
