Renjo La Pass Trek is one of the most famous adventurous treks in the Everest Region of Nepal. Trek to Renjo La Passes for those trekkers who have limited time to discover the most beautiful challenging natural spots of Nepal.

Before departure on this trek from Kathmandu, we need to check the list of trek equipment that helps us climb up to Gokyo Ri (5,360m) for the fantastic views of Mt. Everest (8,848.86m), Mt. Lhotse (5,816m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m), Nuptse (7,855m), Mt. Pumori (7,145m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m), Mt. Thamserku (6,723m) and other mountain peaks.

The next day, make the uphill trek and cross the Renjo La. From the top, there is a great view of the Gokyo Lakes on one side and the Ringmo Pokhari Lake on the other side. There are numerous snowy peaks in the background which provide us with an incredible atmosphere. These treks also undoubtedly combine our emotions and refresh our thoughts with their tranquil beauty.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport (1,350m/4,428ft)

One of our representatives welcomes you outside the terminal gate holding your name, then you are transferred to the hotel.

Day 02: Full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley (1350) 4 – 6hr

A full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu valley after breakfast at a hotel. A visit to the World Heritage Sites like Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath temple. An amazing tour around cultural places that are artistically impressive and hold great significance.

  • Patan Durbar Square:

Patan Durbar Square is a fascinating combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards, and graceful pagoda temples. The Krishna Mandir (Temple) from the 17th century is a major attraction. The patanPatan museum contains bronze statues and other religious objects which has great significance. Durbar Square has both religious and cultural importance and the surroundings are artistically beautiful.

  • Pashupatinath Temple:

The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu temples in Asia with over 500 small and big shrines, Lingams, and temples in the temple complex.

  • Boudhanath Stupa:

The largest stupa and center of Tibetan Buddhism that is in the Kathmandu valley. One of the best places to relax and take a hint of Buddhist culture is in Kathmandu. After the Sightseeing, we will drive you back to the hotel.

  • Swayambhunath Temple:

Also known as the ‘Monkey Temple’, this is one of the oldest heritage sites in Nepal. From the top viewpoint, you will have an amazing view of the capital city “Kathmandu”. Stay Overnight.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft) 4 hr

An early morning adventurous and scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Upon reaching Lukla, meet the porters and along with your guide trek to Phakding. Walk by the side of Dudh Koshi River enjoying the surroundings and new environment. Reach Phakding and stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft)

We start trekking to Namche Bazaar traversing the Dudh Koshi River several times. We reach Jorsale village and stop for lunch. We continue trekking passing the pine forest and climbing to enter Namche. Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization (3,440m/11,280 ft.)

Explore the Namche Bazaar on our acclimatization day. Trek to the Khumjung village and adore the stunning views of Mt. Everest. Interact with the locals. Return to Namche and stay overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4200m) 5hr

Walk to Dole following the trail that leads to Sanasa. Ascend to Mongla from there and witness panoramic views of snowy mountains. A steep descent passes Phortse Tenga and ascends climb to reach Dole. Stay overnight.

Day 07: Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4470m) 5hr

A steady climb passes the juniper forest and grazing fields to reach Machhermo. As the altitude increases, feel the change in altitude and adapt yourself according to it. A splendid view of Mt. Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku peaks en route and stays overnight at a lodge.

Day 08: Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4790m) 5hr

An exciting trek to Gokyo commences from Machhermo. Enjoy the trail following Pangka and climbing down to the side of Ngozumpa Glacier. From there, pass several lakes and arrive at Gokyo. Stay overnight.

Day 09: Rest day at Gokyo and Climb Gokyo Ri (5357m) 4hr

An acclimatization rest at Gokyo. A trek to the Gokyo Ri Peak and witness the superb views of mountain vistas from the top. Descend back to Gokyo and explore nearby places at Gokyo. Stay overnight.

Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Renjo La Pass (5360m) and back to Thame (5345m) 7- 9hr

A thrilling day as we climb Renjo La Pass. The views from the Renjo La Pass are magical. The Gokyo Lake, Gokyo Valley, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and other peaks are impressive from the summit. Descend slowly as the trail is tricky. En route get a sight of Relama Tsho and Renjo Lake. Trek back to Thame and stay overnight.

Day 11: Trekking from Thame to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft) 4hr

We head towards Namche from Thame. Walk downhill traversing a suspension bridge. Trek further on a steep descent trail to Thamo village and witness Khari Gompa. Home to some monks and nuns. Pass through a check-post and reach Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (5 – 6hr) 2886m

A last day of trekking and staying in the lap of mountains. A few short ascents and descents climb on the trail traversing Bhote Koshi River thrice. The final ascent climbs to reach Lukla. Stay overnight.

Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1350m)

An early morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you are transferred to your hotel. Later explore the nearby places in Thamel and do some shopping. In the evening, accompany us for a farewell dinner. Stay overnight at a hotel.

Day 14: Final departure

Our driver takes you to the Tribhuvan International Airport Airport for your final departure to an onward destination.

The following information will give you some idea about what you need o bring for the trek as the backpack and the gear play a vital role in the successful trip and we suggest you have all the necessary gear for the trip and not have unnecessary equipment/things that you will not be used for the trip and list of the gear you need for the trek are as Below: 1. 2. Medicines and First Aid Kits

  • Extra Strength Excedrin for altitude-related headaches.
  • Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  • Immodium or Pepto Bismol capsules for upset stomach or diarrhea.
  • Diamox 125 or 250mg tablets for altitude sickness.
  • 1 small personal-sized first-aid kit with blister treatments such as moleskin, band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc.

  1. What kind of hotels and Accommodations are on Renjo La Pass trek ? We provide you 2-star Category standard hotel in Kathmandu and Lodge/Teahouse during the Trekking the rooms are basic, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets, A few have electric lights and all have a spacious dining room-lounge on lodges during the trek, we will accommodate the group in local lodge available each day. We send a porter ahead of us to book the required number of rooms for the group (rooms cannot be booked in advance in all places).
  2. What is the Facility for Electricity and battery charges on the trek? There is electricity available in some of the villages where you can recharge your camera batteries while on the Renjo La Pass trek and there is solar power in some villages we trek through and you can recharge your batteries in those places as well if they have enough power and we suggest you to have spare batteries as well and you will have to pay some for recharging batteries.
  3. What about the Meals and drinks on the Renjo La Pass trek? The meals are included in our trek price and they are taken in lodges; we will have breakfast and dinner at the lodge where we stay overnights and our will guide will choose and stop for lunch an available place every day we recommend you bring water purification pills since you will have normal water for free, then you can have the normal water and use the medicine and drink however you have options of buying bottled water or boiled water in every place as well.
  4. What Luggage/Bag pack do I need on the Renjo La Pass trek? Your main luggage will be carried by porters on the trek and you simply carry a day pack with a water bottle, camera, sun-screen, spare jacket, etc, during the trek, as small loads allow you for full enjoyment of the trek. A trek bag is ideal for your main luggage, plus a small lockable bag for travel clothes or anything that you do not need during the trek which you can leave at the hotel’s locker room/safe deposit box in Kathmandu for free of charge. Weight allowance at Nepal’s domestic airlines is 15 Kg including your handbag; excess weight is chargeable at USD 1 or more which is extra on our tour cost.
  5. What about the Guide/Porter on the trek? Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure will provide a trained trekking guide (handles the logistics and guides you and your team on the trek) and porters for the trek, A porter for every 2 trekkers and a porter carry about 20 Kg (10 Kg from each trekker) and if there are more than 10 people in the group then we will provide you an additional guide for the group.
  6. What about the Group Size, guide, and crew members? We organize Everest Cho la pass Trek for single people to a maximum of 14 people at once or even if you have more than 14 people then we can split the group into two or more groups (according to the number of trekkers) however you all can walk together and stay at the same guest house and there are only different guide, and there are 1 guide up to 10 people and 2 guides for 11-14 people and a porter for every 2 trekkers.
  7. What are approximate Personal expenses During  the trek? Personal expenses depend largely on your habit and all the meals are included on our Renjo La pass trek, You only need money for table drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages), snacks while walking (some smaller shops are available along the trail in the areas), tips, souvenirs, hot shower (available in some places), and meals ( A meal cost 5-7USD in Kathmandu) for your Kathmandu stay, entrance fees ( approx.: 25USD) while your tour in Kathmandu, if you do not drink alcohol and sopping then 12 – 15 USD per day should be enough for the hot drinks, shower and, snacks on the trek and Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trek.
  8. Gears available in Kathmandu: It’s not necessary to spend a lot of money buying equipment for the Renjo La Pass trek in your country as the majority of this gear can be bought at reasonable rates in Kathmandu.
  9. A typical day on the trek: Each morning on our Renjo La Pass trek, after packing your bags and having a hot breakfast at the lodge, you set off on the day’s walk/hike/trek and after walking for 3-4 hours, you will stop for lunch at around midday. The afternoon walk is generally shorter and usually arrives at the destination in time for the afternoon. The remainder of the afternoon can be spent exploring the village, doing a bit of washing, or simply relaxing with a good book.
  10. Insurance/Rescue/Evacuation: In case of a serious sickness or a casualty, while you are on the Renjo La Pass trek (which we believe will not happen), we will do everything to transfer you to the nearest hospital to save your life (this has happened to us few times) and you are entirely liable for all the expenses incurred in evacuation/rescue, so, please make sure that these expenses are covered by your insurance policy before assigning for the trek or be prepared to pay on your own after getting back to Kathmandu. Ensure that you’ve insured yourself before doing the trip.
  11. Trip Extensions: Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure helps to organize extensions both within Nepal and other neighboring countries like Bhutan and Tibet if you have time and want us to arrange your extensions tours, you may do water rafting or a jungle safari, Pokhara tour or Lumbini Tour in Nepal or Bhutan or Tibet.
