Kali Gandaki is one of the holy rivers in Nepal. It originates from the high Tibetan Plateau the “Mighty Kali” plunges down through the Himalayas; also carving out one of the deepest gorges in the world between Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Mountains.
Rafting in the Kali Gandaki River offers adventure enthusiasts an exhilarating experience and also the scenic beauty of the region. Starting from the Mustang region, the Kali Gandaki River rushes down between the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna ranges to carve out one of the world’s deepest gorges
Day 1: Around 7/8 am, you drive for 3-4 hours to the put-in point near Beni.
Day 2: Once the rafts are packed, you start down the river for a day mixed with adrenaline, calmness, and spectacular scenery, including views of Annapurna 1 and Himachuli.
Day 3: Soon after being back on the water, you reach the holy village of Seti Beni.
Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Day 1: Between 7/8 am, you drive for 3-4 hours to the put-in point near Beni.
A spectacular views of Mt. Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre throughout your drive. You will be instructed about your safety briefly after your arrival and unloading all the equipment. Have lunch and then the guide will take you to the river starting point ready to begin your exciting 3-day rafting trip. On the first day, you begin with some class III rapids which are a warm-up for the team, after 10/15 minutes you will be encountering 2 big class 4 rapids i.e. ‘Small Brother’ and ‘Big Brother. Your guide will make you work hard at doing exercises to work as a team maneuvering the raft efficiently. After scouting the rapid, the safety kayaks will go first and then the raft. After encountering these two big rapids, you will reach the Modi Khola convergence where you will stay at the beach for the evening camp.
Day 2: Once the rafts are packed, you start down the river for a day mixed with adrenaline, calmness, and spectacular scenery, including views of Annapurna 1 and Himachuli.
You will tackle many sections of class III and IV called Refund. You will witness plentiful vines and lush vegetation from the edge of a cliff in this section of the river. Your campsite is below the village of Purti Ghat.
Day 3: Soon after being back on the water, you reach the holy village of Seti Beni.
The river has dumped a house-size stone in the union with a smaller tributary. The stone is considered an important shrine to Hindu religious people as they feel it very sacred. There is usually a great audience to watch and listen to the spectacle as each team negotiates the rapid that has formed around this holy place. It is time for this amazing journey to end with sweet memories. You will prepare for the bus journey back to Pokhara after unloading all gears.
Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
You will get ready to return to Kathmandu after an adventurous and memorable rafting.
