Jaljala Trek
Jaljala lies in the western part of Nepal, specifically located in the Thabang Village Development Committee of the Rolpa district. The Rolpa district is also known as one of the main epicenters of the Maoist revolution of Nepal. In the Nepalese context, Jaljala is considered a historic place. Jaljala Trek is one of the recently built trekking routes in Nepal, which opened in October 2009.
The present area is away from the development and possibly we could see unspoiled nature, culture, and tradition. Jaljala trek offers sweeping Trans Himalayan views of Mt. Sisne, Mt. Putha, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, and many other mountains.
Mainly, the Magar ethnic group of people lives in this region. Magar is also one of the indigenous people of Nepal. We could have a wonderful experience by visiting this region and having a close look at their way of lifestyle and culture. Jaljala (3193m) is also the main pilgrimage site of the whole Rapti Zone and consists of three important temples: Kailu Baraha, Baju Baraha, and Sahadey Barah.
