Gosainkunda Lake Trek
Gosainkunda Lake Trek offers perfectly placed terraced slopes, settlement of Tamang ethnic group, wild animals and diverse range of flora and fauna as well as miracle panorama Mountain View. Gosaikunda Lake lies at an altitude of 4,380 m above the seas level. It is an adventure trek and suitable for those who are interested to explore the sacred holy land. The distance from Kathmandu to Gosaikunda is 67.5 km only. It is also a short trip from Kathmandu to Gosaikunda lake trek and back to Kathmandu.
Gosaikunda Lake is a sacred holy pilgrim place for both the believer of Hinduism and Shamanism. People also believe that, once you take shower in holy Gosaikunda lake it wash all your pain, sorrows, and sins. This Lake is famous as the frozen lake of Langtang region. Hindus religious also believe that the god Mahadev, drunkenness by grief due to his wife died, felt thirsty so he struck the rock with his holy stick, thus producing the lakes. The thousands of domestic pilgrim and Indian pilgrim visit Gosaikunda lake at Early September full moon day (Janai Purnima); rest of the month thinly trekkers visit at Gosaikunda lake via Langtang Trek, and from Helambu Trek.

Day 03: Trek to Tuksang – 4-5 hrs / 3,180 m
Day 04: Trek to Ghopte – 5-6 hrs / 3,340 m
Day 05: Trek to Gosaikunda – 5-7 hrs
Day 06: Trek down to Dhunchhe – 5-6 hrs / 1,764 m
Day 07 : Drive back to Kathmandu – 4-6 hrs

Day 01: Kathmanud arrival.

Day 02: Drive to Sundarijal to Chisapani (2,167 m)4-5hr
Drive for about 40 mints to the Shivapuri National park entrance in the north of Kathmandu. Sundarijal is scenic recreation and picnic spot for locals from Kathmadu. Walk 2 hrs. to the Mulpani village where we will have lunch / snacks and then climb through the forest to Chisapani. Chisapani village is perched along the mountain ridge offering view of lush valleys with Himalayas.

Day 03: Trek to Tuksang – 6 hrs / 3,180 m
We walk through the lively forest and charming Tamang villages with Himalayan view. Tamang follows pre-Buddhist shamanistic and animistic practices now dominated by Buddhism. Langtang and Shivapuri national park is popular birding destination that protects several rare species of flora and fauna including the last population of ‘Red Panda’.

Day 04: Trek to Ghopte – 7 hrs / 3,340 m Walking becomes more interesting through sparsely populated, deep forest. Altitude gain slows you down but the temperature and scenery is inspiring.

Day 05: Trek to Gosaikunda – 7 hrs
Gosaikunda Lake is sacred for both Hundus and Buddhists. Shamans and other pilgrims visit the Lake during the full moon day in August. It is a complex of about 108 alpine lakes spread in the area of 1,030 ha (4 sq mi). The area is designated as Ramsar Site in 2007. The trail climbs steeply through the rocky terrain and cross the Lauribina pass (4,610 m) coming down to Gosaikunda valley.

Day 06: Trek down to Dhunchhe – 6 hrs ( 1,764 m)

Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu – 6 hrs
Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu. we will take you in the evening to celebrate farewell dinner with Nepali Family.

Transfer to the airport for final departure.

Travelling:

Personal first aid kit:
Any personal medications, Diamox (optional) helps with acclimatization.
Each trekker should carry one backpack for items required during the day. Your day backpack will contain items such as warm clothes, jacket, camera, water bottles, and personal first aid kit and day snacks.
