Namobuddha is a holy site for the Buddhist. It lies in the Kavre district at an elevation of 1800m, around 38 km east of Kathmandu. The stupa and shrines develop in this lovely little hill significantly enough mark a very ancient holy site where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered him to starving Tigress with its several underfed cubs. This amazing episode is depicted in a very nice stone slab and place alongside a holy stupa.

Namobuddha hiking through enchanting villages affords some excellent mountain views and is a additionally superb way to see the picturesque countryside. A scenic countryside along Nepal/Tibet highway takes you to Dhulikhel Bazaar (30kms/1hr drive from Kathmandu). From here you will also walk around forty-five minutes up to Devistan, a little temple, an amazing spot to see the Himalaya. After a short descent, a continuous climb of about ninety minutes brings you to Phulbari; where panoramic mountain views are amazing. Then it is a ten-minute walk to the legendary Namobuddha Stupa.

After exploring the area a walk of about 2 1/2 hours brings you down to the charming medieval Newari village of Panauti, a fortune house of ancient Newari architecture. From Panauti your vehicle takes you back to Kathmandu (1hr drive). (total walking hour approx. 5-6 hrs,

On this day hike we get to observe the traditional lifestyle of Newar communities who mostly occupy the area. apart from the newars, other communities of tamang, magar and few aryan communities have also made a home in the area as well.

From Panauti your vehicle takes you back to Kathmandu (1hr drive). (total walking hour approx. 5-6 hrs, tour duration approx. 6-7 hrs).

The fundamental attractions of this hike are the panoramic mountain views and many Buddhist stupas on the hilltop. Namobuddha is also famous for rice, mustard and millet; so you can also encounter the beautiful hillside terraced farms throughout the walk. One can see the number of temples, variations in landscapes and descent variety of people living in harmony.

Your Guide will pick you up from your hotel to start your trip for day hike from panauti to namobuddha. Drive to panauti from kathmandu along the araniko highway which offer you a wonderful window views of city and bhaktapur town and their landscapes along the road.

After approximately one hour driving, you will reach the town panauti where you will explore some of it’s important and ancients landmarks such as indreshwar tempke( tallest pagoda style temple in Nepal) several other temple and Panauti musium. you will also observe the newari city and their lifestyle.

Finally, your hiking start soon after exploring the ancient city of panauti, you will followasphalt paved roads for the first 2.6 kilometer. you will be passing through small,picturesque towns and admiring the beutiful vistas of the valley before you.

The first glimpse of namobuddha monestery’s with hundreds of thousand of prayer flags fluttering above the monastery’s bright golden domes can be seen from the halfway point.you will arrive at namobuddha after almost 4-5 hour walk.
