Nepal Removes Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination for International Flights

Good News for All Travelers Traveling to Nepal. Nepal removes mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for International Flights. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (MOCTCA) sent a letter instructing the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to implement the decision following a meeting held on May 14 by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC). The outcome of the meeting proposed the removal of the mandatory PCR test for air travelers. It prompts the authorities to adjust the regulations accordingly.

This implementation greatly benefits foreign visitors, making their travel easier. Visitors no longer need to carry a vaccination QR code or present a negative PCR test report. The decision to lift the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination was influenced by the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. The WHO officially removed COVID-19’s status as a global health emergency on May 5, 2023.

However, it is important to note that passengers departing from Nepal may still need to fulfill specific document requirements based on their destination. Therefore, being well-informed before departure is crucial for a stress-free travel experience.
