Find your perfect trip

Chae in Seok

Trekking in Nepal was my first challenge and wonderful experience. I was truly fortunate to undertake that first challenge with Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure. This trip was also an unexpected journey shared with a travel-loving friend I met by chance in Mongolia. For a week, we enjoyed the Khopra Danda Trek, which my friend had really wanted to visit. It was a less well-known course compared to the ABC Trek. We had originally already signed a contract with another agency, but contact was suddenly cut off, so we had to find a new one. A week before departure, my travel companion hurriedly searched for and contacted several local agencies in Nepal.

The one we chose was Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure. Although we were anxious due to the sudden cancellation, trust was built through repeated communication, and they offered the most reasonable price. Above all, they completely resolved our concerns regarding the trekking course. For instance, they had accurate, firsthand information about the local situation, such as sections prone to landslides due to the rainy season and the distances that would require walking. I became convinced that this was the only place to go when it came to safety.

This trekking trip was systematically managed and perfectly organized from start to finish, allowing me to fully enjoy the trek itself without worrying about the schedule or preparations. Despite it being the rainy season, the clear weather every morning allowed me to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery. In particular, the spectacular views of Annapurna and Fishtail from Mulde and Poon Hill were so impressive that I still wish I could stay there for a long time. Our guide, Bishnu, was not only highly experienced but also possessed an extensive local network.

Perhaps because it was the off-season, he booked us the best accommodations; the lodgings were comfortable, and the meals were excellent. Wi-Fi and charging stations were provided, allowing us to enjoy the benefits of civilization even deep in the Himalayas. In the evening, he even prepared a fruit dessert, helping us unwind after a long day. Thoughtful consideration was evident everywhere. Our porter was also quiet yet reliable. He seemed to know every nook and cranny of the Himalayas inside and out; sometimes he led from the front, and when we looked exhausted, he matched our pace from behind.

The course was adjusted to suit our walking speed and condition, allowing us to walk at our own pace without any pressure. Thanks to this customized approach, the trekking became an even more enjoyable experience. Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to our guide, Bishnu.

We often use a smile as the standard of kindness. However, a smile varies depending on the social context and an individual’s personality. Bishnu has a somewhat reserved appearance on the surface. Therefore, if you consider a smile to be the absolute standard of kindness, you might be better off choosing a different guide. However, if you prefer a guide who meticulously looks after your safety and comfort behind the scenes rather than focusing on outward smiles, I highly recommend Bishnu.

He is also an excellent companion for those who wish to maintain their own trekking rhythm without being distracted by excessive kindness. He was dedicated and kind throughout the trek and took meticulous care of us in every situation. Among all my travels, this trek will truly be an unforgettable experience. Much of this is thanks to Guide Bishnu’s professionalism and warm consideration, as well as the porter he introduced. I sincerely thank both of them.

This trekking trip with Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure was a wonderful experience that far exceeded my expectations. Thank you once again, and I confidently recommend it to anyone planning a trek in Nepal.
