Bishnu Bhatta

Travel industry expert Bishnu Bhatta believes that tourism is not only a profession, it’s a passion. Bishnu graduated with a Business Management degree from Tribhuvan University, and then successfully completed the Trek Guide Training Program conducted by the Hotel Management and Tourism Training Centre in Kathmandu. He has 10 years varied experience in the tourism and travel industry in Nepal.

Bishnu was born in the rural area of Gorkha, and grew up in Alkatar, a remote mountain village located north-west of Kathmandu. As a child he walked 8km every day to school and back. He took great pleasure in the amazing views of terraced farms, waterfalls, the warm smile of a passerby and the constant company of the mighty Himalayas. He was fortunate enough to start his career in tourism in one of the reputed hotels in Pokhara. In 2015 alongside three partners, Bishnu set-up Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure (HSA) to provide authentic travel experiences to fellow adventure seekers like himself. His dedication is infinite! He continues to organise and coordinate trips, and jumps at the chance to lead out-of-the-box adventures for particular clients. He is also determined for HSA to be a leader in sustainable tourism and community development initiatives.

HSA’s motto is to provide quality service and an exceptional experience for clients, while ensuring these experiences are available for generations to come. HSA also provides career and educational opportunities for staff whilst developing and supporting programs that give back to Nepalese communities. Bishnu believes the company he passionately founded can reach new heights in global tourism. ‘Nothing is impossible if we dare to dream big.’
